Once you’ve done this for both account types you’re comparing, the decision becomes much more grounded. You’re comparing real numbers, not marketing numbers.

Quick aside: if your bank withholds tax automatically at the source (common in many countries), double-check whether the withholding rate matches your actual marginal rate. If you’re in a lower bracket, you may be entitled to a refund. If you’re in a higher bracket, you may owe more at filing. Either way, don’t assume the withholding is your final number.
